Family History Family Home Evening: It's All About Dad!

Opening Prayer:
Song:
"Father's" Page 209 Children's Song Book
or

Scripture:
"I Nephi, having been born of goodly parents, therefore I was
taught somewhat in all the learning of my father . . . "

Lesson:
How much do you really know about your father?
Here's a quiz to help you find out.
Take turns drawing a question from Dad's favorite hat.
Write your answer and give the cards to dad.
Dad will read each of the answers on the cards.
If you got it right you get a point.
The person with the most points at the end of the night Wins!
The prize could be Dad's favorite treat or candybar.

Cards can be added to your Family History Scrapbook.

Activity:
Celebrate Father's Past, Present, and Future.
To celebrate Father's Past:
List some of the things your learned from your
Grandpa's.
(This is a great one for Dad to fill out!)
(Add pictures of Grandpa's.)
To celebrate Father's Present:
Have your children list some of the things Dad has
taught them, as well as some of the things they would
like for him to teach them.
(Add pictures of Dad and the kids.)
To celebrate Father's Future:
List the qualities found in
The Family: A Proclamation to the World
(Add pictures of the father's in your family.)
Have each of the boys in your family fill out their own page.
There are two scrapbook pages for each section:
1 Page for Writing
and
1 Page for Photo's!

Time for Treats!
This is my dad's absolute FaVoRiTe Dessert . . .
Chocolate Cake with Marshmallow Frosting!
(It's usually a little bit of cake and a lot of frosting!)
Here's the Marshmallow Frosting Recipe:
1 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Water
2 Tbsp. Karo Syrup
Boil until forms ball.
Remove from heat.
1 Tbsp. Vanilla
Dash of Salt
2 Egg Whites
Directions:
Beat egg whites until stiff.
Add mixture to egg whites, slowly.
Beat until thick. 
Use your Favorite Chocolate Cake Mix for the Cake!

Just a FYI, I was putting the Temple Match game together and realized that I had 8 copies of the Vernal Temple. Was wondering if there were ones that got missed or not.

You are AMAZING!!! I need to get to work putting my binder together and acquiring the needed information to do so.

Thanks for putting this out so we can all be better prepared.

As for this frosting - it's my favorite! A good reason to go make a cake right this very minute! :)
